Seek out what magnifies your spirit

"Seek out what magnifies your spirit"

Since working at SLT I have been inspired to paint in a different style. I am more attune to the intricacies of life and am again reminded of Blake's idea of eternity in a grain of sand. Pomegranates are magical, sensuous fruits, revered by many cultures as symbols of fertility. To me, the jewels inside these shiny orbs represent the abundance and the divine in us all. Clearly there is a nod to India miniature painting here although the canvas is quite large and the distressed ultramarine, gold leaf and Islamic arch remind me of Fez, again a place of labyrinthine intricacy and secrets.

My Guide to Sydney
